Our trustees work together to provide
- strategic leadership – defining the vision, fostering the school’s culture and setting the strategy
- accountability and assurance – robust and effective oversight of school operations and performance
- engagement – strategic oversight of relationships with stakeholders, ensuring decision-making is supported by meaningful engagement.
– The full board and sub committees meet 3 times a year (once every term).
Megan Booth
Trustee & Chair
Megan is a qualified teacher and is passionate about ensuring an inclusive education for all. She has experience of teaching in a mainstream secondary school as well as working as a Head of Year/Pastoral Lead with responsibility for over 200 pupils. Until recently Megan has worked for SOS! SEN and continues to volunteer for them. She develops and delivers training on neurodivergence and is currently undertaking a masters in ‘Special & Inclusive Education – Autism’.
As a member of various working groups at Surrey County Council, Megan is helping to develop the council’s new EBSNA support and is in the All-Age Autism Strategy Reference Group where they are developing the LA’s position statement on PDA. She has been directly involved in delivering PDA training to schools and social workers.
Megan is AuDHD and a parent to three neurodivergent children.
Lisa Macpherson
Trustee & Vice Chair
Lisa started her career as a recruitment consultant in the City working within the finance and legal sectors. She worked her way up to Head of HR for a large, Pan European consultancy looking after 500 employees across Europe. She is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives by creating positive workplaces where everyone feels valued, rewarded and respected.
Lisa was part of a very small team who helped her last organisation to reach 5th place in the Times top 100 companies to work for. She is a very accountable person with integrity and honesty and is always happy to listen to concerns and feedback to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard, and make change where change needs to happen.
Lisa is a SEND parent herself, she has two wonderful children who are AuDHD with varying needs, including demand avoidance. She has lived experience of navigating through the SEND system and ensuring that her children receive the education that they deserve.
Megan Booth
Trustee & Board Safeguarding Lead
Michele is a SEND Consultant and a qualified teacher with an MA in Educational Management. She has worked across secondary mainstream and specialist schools since qualifying in 1990.
Following her time as a teacher and senior schools’ leader, Michele has worked as a SEND consultant for 17 years. Most of this work has been in mainstream schools in London where she was involved in school improvement, working alongside a specialist team of senior leaders, deputy heads and headteachers. In addition to this work, she set up a new free school for children with speech, language and communication needs – Marylebone Bridge School, where she was the Headteacher until the school became more established. She also opened a resource base for girls with ASD (high functioning) at Tolworth Girls School in Kingston.
Michele is a Governor for a local special school, on the board of trustees for a specialist academy and works as an advocate for SEND parents in need of support and guidance. She is passionate about helping families and young people in navigating their way through the complex system of special educational needs to get the support they are entitled to.
Alison Miller
Trustee
Alison has worked in various sales and marketing positions both in the UK and across the globe, and is fluent in French, Italian, and Mandarin. She spent 10 years co-leading a British charity’s Beijing team before returning to the UK in 2013.
She has served in several governance roles, including 7 years as a Charity Trustee and 3 years as a Parent Governor of a mainstream secondary school. She has a good understanding of corporate governance in both the charity and education sector. Whilst a school governor she was a champion for SEND, inclusion and mental health, and served on various subcommittees including Curriculum & Standards and Admissions.
Alison is a SEND parent and has lived experience of a range of complex needs including PDA, Asperger’s, ARFID, PTSD, and teenage mental health. Alison’s personal and professional journey makes her a compassionate and insightful advocate for students, families and staff alike.
Peter Wylde
Trustee & Board Treasurer
Peter is now retired having spent his 40-year career in banking and finance mostly in the City of London. Throughout this time, he was involved in a wide variety of banking and finance disciplines mainly concentrating on corporate and commercial lending for large and medium sized companies and real estate finance.
Peter has significant experience in client relation management, financial modelling, risk analysis and accounting and legal matters. Peter will take on the role of Treasurer.
