The school day starts at 8.30am and finishes at 3.00pm
We believe that learning is a delight when it is driven by internal motivation and that we need to provide an environment which encourages curiosity, one where it is safe to take chances and make mistakes. This approach will encourage students to be engaged with their learning and the world around them.
We are curious about our students, about what motivates, interests and regulates them and this understanding underpins our relationships. We are adaptable and use a range of methods and resources to encourage reciprocal interactions and facilitate learning.
Times of the school day
A safe space
Our school is committed to ensuring every child feels supported and secure. When a student is experiencing worry or upset, staff are on hand to provide calm and caring guidance. Depending on the situation, this may include offering a quiet moment in a sensory-friendly environment, time with a trusted adult, or opportunities to practise strategies that help them self-regulate. We prioritise emotional wellbeing, ensuring that no student is ever left to manage difficult feelings alone.

Lunch
All students bring a packed lunch to school. We know that many of our students have food preferences and sensory sensitivities, and we understand that this can impact what they eat.
Some students have allergies so please don’t bring nuts into school.

Mobile Phones
We are a mobile phone free school. We understand that many of our students travel long distances to come to school and use their devices for regulation and music therefore, if students do bring devices to school, we ask for them to be switched off and handed it upon arrival at school. Devices are kept safe and returned to students at the end of the school day.
