Student Wellbeing Support

At our school, the wellbeing of every student is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a supportive, inclusive environment where students feel safe, valued, and heard. Our comprehensive wellbeing provision includes a range of services designed to promote emotional resilience, mental health, and positive relationships.

We are proud to have two qualified, in-house counsellors who provide confidential 1:1 counselling sessions for students in need of emotional support. In addition to scheduled sessions, our counsellors are also available for ad hoc support, offering a safe space for students to talk about anything that may be worrying them, from school stress to personal challenges.

Our school is home to a fully trained and qualified Thrive Practitioner who works with students to support their emotional development. Through a structured Emotional Literacy programme, students learn how to understand and manage their feelings, build self-confidence, and develop healthy relationships. This proactive approach helps students to overcome barriers to learning and thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Every student is assigned a form tutor who acts as their first point of contact each day. Form tutors play a vital role in monitoring students’ wellbeing, checking in regularly and offering guidance or signposting additional support when needed. This daily connection helps build strong, trusting relationships and ensures that any concerns can be picked up early.

Beyond the form tutor, each student has access to a wider team of trusted adults within the school community. These staff members are available for regular check-ins, whether that’s through scheduled mentoring, informal conversations, or additional pastoral support. Our aim is for every student to know there are multiple adults in school they can turn to if they need help or simply someone to talk to.
